Summer is the perfect time to develop a love for Chemistry. Far away from deadlines and exams, this is when you can sit and savor some of the more beautiful ideas, concepts and visuals.

Let’s start with the periodic table.

I have previously referred students to a simple visual history of the periodic table, and the unique contribution of Dmitri Mendeleev. If you haven’t seen that yet, do that now.

But that’s just the beginning of the story. The second part of the story was how to back up and solve an problem in Chemistry. This is a very important post, so make sure you get that.

But now, sit back and relax! Here’s my gift to you: a short, less than 10-minute video on how the elegance of the periodic table leads us to predict and understand the world of Chemistry.
